I started daily smoothie (lime juice/avocado/frozen pineapple/ coconut water) with TD Vanilla bone broth protein powder midsummer.. I was also tweaking my diet (but I’ve always had a pretty healthy diet and exercise routine).. By the end of the summer/ early fall I was really starting to feel good (I ‘d been recovering from an injury and had started to feel somewhat frail and demoralized), all of a sudden I had a lot more energy, felt stronger, doing more distance at faster pace in daily swim & walk. Took a slew of functional medicine blood tests and for the first time in my life (or at least since I was 15 and first(to my memory) tested(I’m now 75), my hemocrit level was 38.5! Seriously, I’ve spent 60 years trying to get it above 35, usually borders below or right at 35. LOL, I pushed myself through marathons etc and now see what I’ve been missing all these years ;a healthy hemocrit level is like cheating! As I said, I’ve been tweaking my diet (given up coffee, and become even more fanatical than usual about my diet (which is absurdly simple thanks to The Green Fork in my New Orleans neighborhood, as well as living a block from WholeFoods) and gotten very consistent about exercise routine (walking/swimming/yoga), but I attribute much of the incredible improvement to the bone broth protein added to my smoothie every day… (I’ve tried other protein powders before but found I really didn’t like the effect).
